On the occasion of Milano Design Week, Gallotti&Radice celebrates its 70th anniversary with Tales in Glass, an exhibition that tells the story of the brand’s heritage, its artisanal excellence, and its passion for glass.Hosted in the historic Palazzo Meli Lupi di Soragna, the exhibition project is conceived as a journey through time, where archive pieces and new design visions intertwine in a unified narrative. Glass is the common thread and true protagonist, capable of constantly renewing itself without ever losing its essence.
Structured into three chapters — past, present, and future — the project, designed by Sophie Dries, unfolds through key moments in the brand’s history. The past evokes the company’s roots, with its pioneering use of glass and the introduction of the metal joint, originally conceived as a functional element and later becoming a distinctive stylistic signature. The present narrates the evolution of material research and the development of a total living vision, in which glass engages in dialogue with different materials and is expressed through refined finishes. The future takes shape through previously unseen pieces conceived by six international designers — Valentina Cameranesi Sgroi, Ivania Carpio, Estudio Persona, Rania Hamed, Fumie Shibata, and Miminat Shodeinde — invited to engage with the company’s heritage and reinterpret it through different cultural and design sensibilities.
